Marchburn Cottage | self catering | sleeps 4

Marchburn, is situated in Glen Clova one of the Angus Glens on the edge of the Cairngorms, now a designated National Park. Only an hour from the East Coast, southwest of Aberdeen and north of Edinburgh and Dundee.
Marchburn is a traditional country cottage, nestling in the heart of Glen Clova, one of the most beautiful Glens in Angus. Set in an acre and a half of our own grounds with the March ‘burn’ bordering the northern boundary.

The cottage was originally built as a roadsmens cottage, to house the men building the road around the glen and looks very much like a crofters cottage.

The owners Paul and Melanie use Marchburn as their family holiday home and have taken great pride in the interior décor. The kitchen is made by Pauls own carpentry company. Melanie has used the Scottish theme for the interiors with tartan soft furnishings and other Scottish related items that give it a home from home touch.

The location of the cottage means many of our guests like to bring their dogs, which we do allow a maximum of 2, but ask you to respect our home and the wildlife around the cottage and to clear up after them in the garden.

A poem by one of our guests

MARCHBURN

A lovely peaceful holiday
No phone or doorbell rings
Just ewes and lambs and pheasants
And numerous birds that sing

Whilst walking in the forest
We spied a timid deer
The sights and sounds around us
Gave added atmosphere

The cottage so comfy and cosy
Nestling in the dell
This surely is a holiday
That we’ll remember well.
